Experts in bespoke mechanical handling solutions

SCX Special Projects provides bespoke engineering solutions for your lifting and mechanical handling challenges. Our customers range from the nuclear and defence sectors to aerospace and manufacturing, stadia and kinetic architecture, and energy and utilities.

We are looking for someone with experience of a fast-paced office environment to provide an efficient administrative service to the Business Operations team.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, your key responsibilities will include:


  • Raise purchase orders on Navision

  • Obtain prices for sundry, low value items and equipment

  • Review and renegotiate prices with suppliers to ensure the best possible price

  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers

  • Resolve issues with suppliers, for example where orders are late or incorrect

  • Where they cannot be resolved, escalate issues to the Manufacturing Manager

  • Book invoices in on the Navision

  • Expedite open orders

  • Communicate order timescales and expenditure to the relevant Project Engineer

  • Reception cover and business administration support

  • Ensuring Approved Supplier List is kept up to date with supplier certifications

  • Ensuring items are calibrated and updated on our management system

  • Support the SHEQ team during audits

  • Supplier documentation is logged and placed in relevant folders

  • Chasing up supplier NCR`s

About You 

A team player with a positive outlook and a strong work ethic. Educated to GCSE level, or equivalent, you should have the following experience:

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads
  • High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, confident and professional approach – knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar packages
