SCX Spinners Hills and Valleys Charity Cycle Challenge

21st July 2014

The SCX Spinners are at it again!Coast to Coast 2013

Following two successful charity cycle rides; Coast to Coast in 2012 and Coast-to-Coast & Back in 2013, SCX’s determined band of cyclists are gearing up for another charity cycle ride.

Over the weekend of 9 and 10 August 2014, two teams (one of road cyclists and one of mountain bikers) will undertake a new gruelling challenge, with the target of arriving back at the SCX Sheffield Head Office together on the Sunday, and of course, raising more money for charity.

The seven road riders will take to the road from Prestatyn, Wales, riding up into Yorkshire to follow the Tour de France route back to Sheffield; 180 miles over two days.

The second team of eight mountain bikers will aim to travel from North to South covering 80 tough and rugged miles of the Pennine Bridleway from Hebden Bridge to Glossop, before diverting east over the Peaks to Sheffield.

The previous two challenges combined raised approximately £10,000 for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, a cause chosen because of many of the riders’ own personal experiences.

This year, the SCX Spinners are supporting two charities; Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity again and also The Katie Piper Foundation. Any donation you are able to make will be greatly appreciated, not only by SCX but also the many unfortunate people that these charities work so hard to support.

If you are able to support the SCX Spinners, their JustGiving team page contains links to two donation pages, so that you can choose which charity to support.

Thank you!
