Training at SCX
SCX believes training to be an integral part of employee development. Where training is deemed essential in terms of Health and Safety and competency, the company ensures that all employees are equipped with the necessary skills in order to carry out their duties in a safe and professional manner. As part of our apprentice programme we are delighted to announce that Electrical Engineers Mark Gill and Shane Luckock have completed their apprenticeship with SCX. Mark Gill has recently passed the HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering qualification and has progressed onto the BSC (Honours) in Integrated Technology degree. Shane Luckock has recently passed the HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering qualification. For a number of years SCX has been a member of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA). This has allowed the company to improve training for all engineers who are working towards the standards and codes of practice of the LEEA. Within the last 18 months a large number of our engineers have completed the LEEA part 1 entry examination that includes a number of topics such as, chain slings, wire rope slings and sling components, webbing slings, round slings, fibre rope slings, shackles, eyebolts and rigging screws etc. SCX are also pleased to announce that Engineers Keith Boggon, Mel Burke, Dan Cooper, Steve Lowe, John Maskell, James McDonald, Rob McMahon, John Meggitt , Herbie Pryor, John Sykes, Freddie Williams, Mike Pritchard and Trevor Burnett have all completed the LEEA part 1 entry examination. A number of our engineers who have complete the LEEA part 1 entry examination have progressed onto completing other LEEA qualifications. For those engineers who have completed these qualifications, the LEEA have recently introduced the TEAM card. This proves that the holders of the card have passed LEEA's diploma examinations, which are industry recognised qualifications for engineers responsible for the test, examination and maintenance of overhead lifting equipment. The TEAM card will be valid for 5 years and provides proof of the holder's identity and employer. All information can be verified via the contact details shown on the card.
