Job Summary

Supporting the project team with the assembly and installation of various projects both at SCX Test Facility Sheffield and at the clients site.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install all equipment related to SCX Special Projects
  • Co-ordinate with Project Managers and planning to ensure each job is completed efficiently and any delay minimised
  • Be responsible for work own work and that of your installation team.
  • Understand, test and maintain equipment needed for projects.
  • Ensures equipment and parts meet the engineering specifications and all the relevant safety standards.
  • Health and safety objectives must be satisfied at all times whether activities are taking place in the office, workshop or on site. Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Health and Safety Plans must be complied with at all times
  • Follow quality control objectives as laid out in the SCX Quality Manual. All relevant Procedures must be followed to ensure Customer Satisfaction and achievement of SCX objectives.
  • Liaise with other departments and clients as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Apprentice trained in an Engineering discipline, preferably mechanical, electrical or electromechanical. Degree qualified would be desirable.
  • Experience of working in a workshop/site environment.
  • Experience of working in the mechanical handling sector, preferably with knowledge and experience of Overhead Traveling Cranes.
  • If electrically biased must hold a current 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Familiarity with safe systems of work, including permit systems
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Welding qualification would be advantageous
