Chevalier House (70 Brompton Road) Located amidst the glitz and glamour of Knightsbridge, overlooking the world famous Harrods department store, Chevalier House is a lavish apartment complex perfectly befitting its surroundings. To complement the elegance of the setting, the complex boasts a concierge as well as a triple-glazed window facade for maximum privacy and serenity. In order to keep the window facade of 70 Brompton Rd looking resplendent, CoxGomyl Integral Ltd have installed building maintenance units (BMUs) to provide thorough cleaning and maintenance access. CoxGomyl Integral have installed two building maintenance units. The first machine is a knuckle-jib BMU designed with a telescoping body to give access to areas of the façade both close to and far from the machine. The design also allows for discrete parking so as not to affect the aesthetic integrity of the building. In order to access the rest of the building, CoxGomyl Integral installed a second machine. This second BMU is a compact low-profile unit which runs on a stainless steel wearing surface built specifically by Integral. The machine is able to traverse around the edges of the roof and reach the exposed portion of the building façade. Its low profile means that it can be parked below the parapet and out of view when not in use. Thanks to the success of this project, CoxGomyl Integral have been recruited to install the access equipment onto a second apartment complex in the vicinity. Also designed by SMC architects and built by Laing O’Rourke, Lancelot place; the sister project to Chevalier house, is equally impressive. With 10 floors, incorporating a gym, swimming pool and Jacuzzi to facilitate the 52 apartments, 60 Brompton Road is to receive a 14m reach low-profile BMU from CoxGomyl Integral to access its high profile facade. |
